Abstract: In the wake of globalization and liberalization of Indian economy, there has been a sweeping transformation in almost all spheres of trade, industry and commerce. In this scenario, the organizations have to face new challenges, threats and opportunities in terms of technology, quality, fierce competition, customer relations, human resource development, hedging of financial risk and so on. This calls for improvement in the quality commerce education in order to fulfill the demand of the corporate bodies for employable commerce graduates/ post graduates who have adequate skills, analytical power, responsiveness to real-life situations, problemfacing attitudes, opportunity-identifying and utilizing capabilities and so on to face the challenges of tomorrow. The present article modestly attempts to address certain relevant issues in connection with the challenges and opportunities faced by the commerce education in India in this dynamic business scenario.
