Abstract: This paper presents the mass transfer characteristics in a boundary layer forced convective flow of a viscous incompressible fluid past a plate embedded in a Darcy- Forchheimer porous medium in presence of suction and first order chemical reaction. With the help of suitable similarity transformations, the governing partial differential equations are reduced to nonlinear ordinary differential equations and are then solved numerically with the help of shooting method. The rate of mass transfer increases with the increasing values of Schmidt number.
