Abstract: The ten species of the genus Bassarona distributed in India. Out of ten species, the six species are distributed in Eastern Himalaya. Bassarona durga Moore is one of the species of nymphalid butterfly of the Eastern Himalaya which has two subspecies. Thus, this paper presented the distributional and phenomenal matrix of one of the subspecies Bassarona durga durga (Moore) of the Sikkim Himalaya.
