Abstract: This study attempts to answer one crucial research question, why the utilization of ISFTA route for trade is very poor by the Indian exporters (30%) as compared to their Sri Lankan Counterpart (70%) even after one decade of its implementation? Considering Non Tariff Barriers(NTBs) as a subset of Non Tariff Measures (NTMs), available studies blame that NTBs are hamstringing development of international trade. This paper considers the analysis limited in nature, therefore, analyses in detailthe logistic process involved in international trade between India and Sri Lanka. After analyzing the detail logistic process, this study has also identified various NTBs sheltered within this logistic process. In addition to that this study has brought forward some other issues which are not directly related to logistic process, but are affecting the international trade between these two countries.
