The relative importance of construction sector to total output increased during post-reform period, especially during 2004-05 to 2009-10. The growth of employment in the construction sector has also expanded. The expansion of employment in the construction sector has relatively higher as compared with other sectors. The study found that inspite the growth dynamics of the construction sector there was the tendency of informalisation and casualisation of the workers.
